The QM24 and its Lower Manhattan branch the QM25 carry an average of 1,480 riders per weekday (the QM24 carrying about 1,171 of them) which places it among the higher ridership express bus corridors.
The demand shown along the service area of the QM24 demonstrates the need for midday, evening, and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) service to be instituted on the QM24. The MTA Bus Company operates express bus routes with far lower ridership than the QM24 which has full reverse peak, midday, evening, and weekend service and it is unacceptable during a time when the MTA is making service investments to other areas to shortchange Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, and Ridgewood by denying them improved express bus service. Improved express bus service would help avoid the inconvenient and unreliable trip to and from Manhattan that currently has to be made by Subway and local buses for Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, and Ridgewood residents and others traveling to and from these areas during the middays, evenings, and weekends.
Improved express bus service would also benefit reverse peak commuters who travel to the Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, and Ridgewood area.
We the undersigned, call on the MTA Bus Company to add full reverse peak, midday, evening, and weekend service to the QM24 express bus which would be a significant improvement for residents in Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, and Ridgewood and others who travel to and from these areas.
