It was built in memory of Guru Nanak Dev ji which commemorates the famous parable of Guru Nanak Dev ji's dialogue with the Hindus over their ritual of throwing water at the Sun for the benefit of their ancestors.
Sikhs from northern states of Indian union have announced to take ‘Sewa Sambhal’ of historical Sikh shrine Gurdwara Gyan Godri situated in Haridwar (Uttrakhand) on April 14.
To take possession of the Gurdwara, large number Sikhs from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pardesh and Jammu-Kashmir are expected to reach Haridwar.
“Sikhs have been struggling for taking procession of this Gurudwara for many years but administration is not allowing them to do so. "
All we need is :
"Rebuilding of the historic Gurdwara Gyan Godri at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar".
We petition the government and administration to allow the Sikh community to reconstruct the shrine.
