The bus service that the MTA Bus Company provides on the BxM1, BxM2, and BxM18 is not exactly adequate for the needs of riders in Riverdale and other areas in the Northwestern section of the Bronx.
It is imperative that the MTA Bus Company make changes to the schedule of the BxM1, BxM2, and BxM18 in order to better match the needs of express bus riders in Riverdale and other areas in the Northwestern section of the Bronx.
We the undersigned, urge the MTA Bus Company to make the following changes to BxM1 service.
-Have the first East Midtown bound BxM1 leave Riverdale at 5 AM instead of at 5:30 AM on weekdays.
-Have the first East Midtown bound BxM1 leave Riverdale at 6:15 AM instead of at 6:45 AM on Saturdays.
-Have the first East Midtown bound BxM1 leave Riverdale at 7:30 AM instead of at 8:30 AM on Sundays.
-Have the last Riverdale bound BxM2 leave West Midtown at 1:00 AM instead of at 12:30 AM on weekdays.
-Have the BxM18 run towards Lower Manhattan from 5:45 AM - 9:15 AM towards Manhattan and from 3:00- 7:30 PM towards Riverdale.
Such service would improve the commute of Riverdale and other Northwest Bronx riders who go to Lower Manhattan and make the service consistent with other Lower Manhattan express bus routes.
