His Grace Bishop Daniel has travelled to Cairo. We are writing this petition to HH Pope Shenouda III, to show him that the vast majority would like him to return back home as soon as possible.

After kissing your blessed hands and prostrating to the Holy Spirit in you, we your children of the Diocese of Sydney seek your prayers and blessings, and send our heartfelt love and deep appreciation to your Holiness for your continuous pastoral care.
We write this letter to your Holiness during the most blessed days of the year asking the Lord to return peace to our Diocese and to protect us from the devil and all his evil works. Your children faithfully believe that it was the choice of the Holy Spirit on your Holiness’ hands to ordain and entrust His Grace Bishop Daniel to serve us in the Diocese of Sydney. We believe it was a divine choice, for we have seen His Grace’s loyalty and faithfulness to his service of God and your Holiness. We take this opportunity during the blessed fast of Lent, to ask our Lord to grant us peace within our diocese. For He “… desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth” 1 Timothy 2:4.
Your Holiness, the congregation are in dire need to have our beloved Bishop return to us to be in our midst during these blessed days, to celebrate with us the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so that we may gather around him and exchange good wishes in the celebration of the feast, with both clergy and the congregation. We believe that the presence of His Grace amongst us will disperse any evil thoughts amongst the congregation, and return peace to our hearts.
Our father and beloved shepherd, we ask your Holiness to pray for us always, and wish that your blessed words always find their way to peoples ears and hearts, that they may accept it and live their life by it. May our Lord Jesus Christ preserve your life and crown you with abundant blessings to continue to shepherd your flock fand defend our precious Orthodox Faith for many peaceful years to come.
