Thanks all! We have 20 signatures on our Select petition which represents at least 20-25% of the Select families. The petition will be submitted to BMHA.
As a manager and coach of Select Hockey, I feel it is important that we ask BMHA to revise the Select program for the better. There are several areas that need to be addressed for the long term viability of Select Hockey program with BMHA.
We are asking members to sign the following petition below:
WE ARE ASKING THAT:
HL and Select should start in September and not in October.
The Select program should hold tryouts similar to rep hockey 1 week after HL has been formed. Players should be selected by the coach and 2 independent evaluators. The current system of choosing the top 17 ranked from HL placements should be eliminated.
A proper coaching selection process should be implemented similar to rep hockey and start first week of September.
The motion that rep teams must meet a 13/2 formula for Select to be allowed should be rescinded so players have confidence that the Select option will be available.
