Many Louisiana homeowners are in a race against the clock. The Great Flood of 2016 devastated central Louisiana communities, but so far FEMA has given homeowners with flood insurance a mere 180 days to figure out the bureaucratic nightmare and submit their Proof of Loss paperwork.
If FEMA does not extend the Proof of Loss deadline, many policyholders could miss out getting the money their flood insurance companies owe them.
The Red Cross called the August flood event “the worst [disaster] to hit the United States since Superstorm Sandy, yet in Sandy FEMA gave homeowners TWO FULL YEARS to file their Proof of Loss.
Stand with Louisiana. Sign the petition and demand that FEMA extend the deadline today.
We hereby demand that FEMA help Louisiana homeowners by extending the Proof of Loss deadline for the Great Flood of 2016 by six months to August 2017.
