gumtree has been creating dodgy sellers from all over the uk.
They are very easy to spot and offer cages, delivery and mixed birds.
most sellers have been selling on the site for over 5 years and still get away with it daily.
we are always on live chat with gumtree staff reporting these sellers but nothing gets done. the gumtree staff are based in brazil and makes me wonder if they understand the uk laws on selling live stock.
we have a ton of proof inc listing id numbers along with live chat scripts from gumtree staff inc the well known sarah who is very rude and cuts you off.
please sign the petition so we can try and close the site down before it gets as bad as there sister site ebay.
The main aim of this is to protect the animals welfare as you can see all the sellers put 20 birds in one small cage and they all struggle to feed so end up fighting to survive, They are also clipping the birds wings to make it look tame when all they are really doing is disabling the bird, most of the birds carry a disease called pbfd which the bird will die from.
you wouldn't cage and sell a human this way so why is it allowed for live pets.
LETS PUT AN END TO THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL

We, the humble civilians, ask you, Mr Michael Pennington and Simon Crookall to realise the cruelty and illegality of this horrid trade on your website. We ask you to ban all live pets, to ban those well known sellers accounts and to bring justice to those doing the wrong thing.
