First off the St. Augustine High School hand book notes that "Fighting, assault, battery or threat of force or violence toward students and other persons on school ground or at school related activities."
The fight that took place on April 23, 2010 was neither at a school activity nor on school campus but at Morley Field, miles away from school. So the school does not have a right suspending this student let alone expelling him.
The school also had knowledge of the fight before it happened but decided not to stop the fight from happening and chose not to call the parents of either student or go down to the field and stop it from happening. So they are the ones at fault not the student.
By signing this petition you call on St. Augustine High School to rescind the expulsion of its student Anthony (AJ) Lira.
