General Sarath Fonseka Plz Don't Enter Politics

UNP is trying to woo Gen. Sarath Fonseka as their candidate for the upcoming presidential election. Mahinda and Fonseka should be in the same side not opposing each other. UNP/LTTE once told General Fonseka that he is suitable for the SALVATION ARMY, said ANY BUFFALO CAN FIGHT A WAR (that is for Sarath Fonseka) & also said that he is a WAR CRMINAL. Now they are canvassing him to be the President of Sri Lanka.

Mahinda gave the best to General Sarath Fonseka. But Mahinda can't give his Presidential chair as a tribute to General's efforts. General is elected by Mahinda just after 1 month when he came to power. Every government employee must retire after 60 years of service. But General still in the government service got more increments from Mahinda Rajapaksa.

General is a war hero, but he's not a politician. Those UNP & LTTE losers tried to get Ranil into the power and after failing this now they are trying to misuse the people's respect of our great General Sarath Fonseka. We respect him as a HERO, not as a politician. Sarath Fonseka is one the greatest Generals in the world, but not a politician. Mahinda Rajapaksa is the greatest leader in Sri Lankan history after the great king Vijayabaahu but not a General, so both will do their best in their respective fields.

All of you ARE "great fans" of this great man. We owe this Peace we enjoy today to 3 such great Men of our country. Namely to Mahinda Rajapaksha, Gotabhaya Rajapaksha, Sarath Fonseka. Do you honestly think we could have achieved ANYTHING if either of these men were missing from the picture?

Anybody can be a "fan" of a mighty man. But what of Gratitude? Is this the way you are showing your gratitude to the people who saved this nation? There is a "supposed" rift between two of the men who saved us and this is all you can do? The day we learn this, Sri Lanka will truly be a Great Nation.

Our General is the best commander we ever had. Salute Sir; General’s military leadership was matched very well with the President’s political leadership in defeating terrorism! In that path to victory everyone knew what their capabilities were. President didn’t command brigades and General didn’t do politics. For those who want General to step into politics, I have a question? If you want General to be the president of this country whom do you want as the ministers ? Jagath J, Shavindra, Prasanna, Jagath D, Kamal, Chaagi, Karannagoda,Roshan,Sarath W… and the rest of the military in the parliament – cause they are not corrupt politicians!!!

And if Ranil is the opposition leader, General will have to deal with the same Human Rights , GSP+, media freedom, release the (LTTE) IDP etc. Will Ranil and the gang (including few of you and some media rats + ingo’s + UN) give him a chance? Rather than trying to make any rift between our national heroes please understand the “evil forces who work against Sri Lanka in and out day and night” are yet to be wiped out in Nandikadaal.

The greatness of the greatest leader Gen. Fonseka will be faded away if he enters in to this dirty politics and more if he joins UNP politics.... It is hilarious that the UNP, the very same party who nourished tigers and criticized General's every movement, trying to come up by hiding behind a warrior like Gen. Fonseka, because they have absolutely no party leadership at the moment. We would like Gen. Fonseka to spend his rest of the life like the proudest Sri Lankan son who did the best ever service to his country. If he enters politics he will have to live with defending others' foolish things & end up becoming a traitor of this country.

We beg of u to rethink of the decision to do politics as you would lose all the gratitude & respect people had for you. You helped reunite Sri Lanka after 30 odd years, but with these hasty decisions you wud be undoing the grate services that you rendered as a modern day National Hero of Sri Lanka. The UNP led coalition wud make you ‘think’ that just because you were instrumental in defeating the LTTE that ALL people ARE still with you NOW. NO. People sacrificed their lives to protect and save Sri Lanka FROM the People whom you are going to join now. If you join these people you would become a Traitor according to the masses. The War is over and Sri Lanka has to think of the future WITHOUT going back to separatism or terrorism. Just because you are not in good terms with only 1 person, you must NOT forget the millions of the true Sinhala & other patriotic communities whom u saved just six months ago of their rights as citizens of Sri Lanka. Hope u wud understand this.
