The Australian Beach Volleyball Community
Region:
Australia

Beach volleyball within Australia currently has the potential availability of tournaments promoted and run by organisations legitimately concerned with presenting the sport in a positive way, for its long-term benefit and growth.

These organisations bring much needed financial investment as well as provide events that significantly increase the perceived professionalism of the sport and well as its public profile.

It is our view that this should not be viewed as a negative and players should be encouraged to participate in any tournaments available that allow for the betterment of the sport within Australia rather than be threatened with sanctions or coerced to commit to a single tour or event.

By participating in such events, players should in no way assume the risk of sanctioning from the AVF as long as the AVF operated; Australian National Tour takes precedence and is made a priority by all players.

“Provide for the conduct, encouragement, promotion and administration of the sport of volleyball through and by various Member States or other organisations for the mutual and collective benefit of the Members and the sport of volleyball”
(Excerpt from AVF mission statement)

In adding your name to this petition you are agreeing that all members of the Volleyball Community should be free to participate in the above mentioned tournaments, games or events that provide the opportunity for remuneration or the advancement of skill level whilst promoting the best interests of the sport as a whole.

By participating, players should in no way assume the risk of sanctioning from the AVF as long as the AVF operated; Australian National Tour takes precedence and is made a priority by all players.
