Each time you visit a Chiptole and ask for guacamole you are reminded that "it costs extra".

While I agree with the notion of an upcharge for premium service, I believe that guacamole is a necessary component to anything on the Chiptole menu. I've asked several people, and everyone agrees with me on this. It should just be included when you order a meal.

The ultimate goal of this movement is to have Chipotle remove or reduce the price of guacamole as an upcharge when added to a meal. Together we will repeal and replace Chipotle's policy on guacamole, I guarantee you that.

Depending on what you order, the guacamole generally represents a 25% increase on your order. To compare, Subway charges $1.00 extra for bacon on their sandwiches. If you take their cheapest promotion, which is generally a $6 footlong of the day, that is only a 16% increase in price for bacon.

If that wasn't infuriating enough Qdoba does not charge for guacamole in their meals. In fact you can get as much of it as you like - FOR FREE. The price of their chicken burrito is $7.80, while Chiptole charges $8.99 without guacamole, and $11.29 with. That is a $4.50 price difference.

The retail price of avocados is approximately $1.80, meaning that you can buy three avocados for the $4.50 difference. The yield of one of those avocados is approximately the scoop size you get at Chipotle, meaning the additional $2.70 is pure profit. Shame on you Chipotle, shame, shame, shame.
