With the recent wave of such tween-friendly properties as "High School Musical," "Hannah Montana" and the Jonas Brothers, there are those who feel that the Disney brand is being diluted by this particular wave, subjecting it to harsh ridicule from purists.
This petition is a call for the Disney organization to rid itself of its recently appointed studio chairman Rich Ross, who spearheaded the tween franchises during his tenure at the Disney Channel.
We the undersigned are petitioning your organization for the firing of studio chairman Rich Ross.
The recent wave of tween-friendly properties such as "High School Musical," "Hannah Montana," "Camp Rock" and others is a detriment to everything that the Disney brand really stands for, and that includes magic.
What needs to be understood is that the loyal fans of your company prefer the classic characters over the contemporary so-called pop stars, and that there is no logic, or magic, in forcing the children of the world to sit through seeing teens and twentysomethings who can't sing or act.
All that we the undersigned want from your company is a studio and a brand that people can count on for the best in entertainment and a management team that won't kill tradition for the sake of making a profit.
