In the past weeks it has come to light that a 10 year contract renewing the food services provided by Gourmet Dining to the students of Fairleigh Dickinson University has been signed and agreed upon without any student input whatsoever.
This is an egregious assault on student rights and demands that action be taken on the part of the students to ensure it shall never be repeated.
We, the undersigned, call upon the administrators involved in the renewing the most recent Gourmet Dining contract, namely Bob Valentin and Dick Riccio, to make a public apology to the students of Fairleigh Dickinson University in a public student government association meeting, to provide the student government association with a copy of the new contract for review, and to sign a contract drafted by the student government association ensuring that no future auxiliary service contract (food, laundry, and book store pertinent) be signed without student government approval in the form of a majority vote.
