News articles and MTA Board documents suggest that Q33 service will be reduced due to the introduction of the Q70 limited bus which will relieve the Q33's responsibility of being a bus that serves LaGuardia Airport.
This would make accessing bus service on 82nd Street less convenient due to the cutback on Q33 service. Furthermore North Jackson Heights has not had direct Manhattan service since the loss of the QM22 in June 2010; which provides for the perfect opportunity for Q32 bus service which currently runs from Jackson Heights to Penn Station to be extended into North Jackson Heights.
We, the undersigned call on MTA New York City Transit to extend the Q32 bus from its current terminal on Northern Boulevard and 81st Street to Astoria Boulevard and 82nd Street.
This move would bring more frequent service and direct Manhattan service to North Jackson Heights residents.
