Evolution has been in our classrooms around the country for more than 50 years. In the United States there is a separation of church and state. This mean that we can't associate religion into the school curriculum. Teaching Macro Evolution in the classroom is teaching religion.
According to Dictionary.com the definition of religion is "a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs." By looking at this we can clearly define Evolution as a religion.
If we want to have seperation of church and state, then we need to take Evolution out of the curriculum of public schools. By the Equal access Act we can still have evolution in clubs that are not sponsored by the school.
Either take the religion of evolution out of the classroom, or teach both evolution and creationism as theories in the classroom.
