Every student has the right to choose the educational institution he/she pleases without having to worry about getting the fee refunded from the previous one.
Unfortunately, universities like COMSATS take that right away; absolutely no fee (except caution money i.e. PKR 5000) is refunded and the student is forced to stay in that university and cannot leave if offered admission in a better one later on.
Who has given the right to these institutions to take money they didn't earn? It's equivalent to theft. Once the student leaves he is entitled to his money back as the empty seat is given to someone else who pays for it; it doesn't go to waste. Why should they get twice the money for the same seat? University looting must end. We should be free to choose the institution we please.
To the Supreme Court,
It must be deemed illegal to keep university fees after the student opts to leave the institution. A law needs to be passed to end university looting.
