As a Mechanical Engineering (ME) Student, we are obligated to pay more than $1300 (plus travel, books, and fees) to take a course meant for Electrical Engineering Students. Multiple Universities in our area either combine or have dropped entirely the course from the ME curriculum. In fact, only SLU offers a circuits lab for ME Majors, and this class is a 1 credit hour taken concurrently with circuits.

Furthermore, Circuits Lab is composed of 10 individual labs. The first five labs consist of principles covered in JEE 2300 Electrical Networks. However, the following five labs consist of material covered in JEE 2320 which is a course that is not required for ME students. This makes it difficult for ME students to fully comprehend the principles necessary to properly conduct experiments and complete labs reports for the last five labs of the course.

We, the undersigned, wish to drop Circuits Lab from the Mechanical Engineering Curriculum.
