DON'T REMOVE MR. BENONI UREY FROM U. S. "SPECIALLY DESIGNATED NATIONAL" LIST

We the people of Liberia, living in the homeland and abroad come in common harmony in obedience to our sovereign and patriotic duties and love for our great country, and tired of destruction and human decadence which have permeated our country for decades leading to the breakdown of the human fabric of our society, plead with the government of the United States through its respective functionaries and officials from President Barack Obama, the U S Congress, U S Department of Treasury, and U S Department of Justice Department not to remove Mr. Benino Urey, Presidential hopeful of Liberia in the country's 2017 election from on the U S "Specially Designated National" List.

Mr Urey is a former confidante of war crime convict, Charles Taylor and was the Mr Taylor's point man in purchasing arms to fuel Taylor's war machine, breaking the United Nations arms embargo.

The arms Mr. Urey purchased killed thousands of Liberians and destroyed the country. Mr. Urey also misused the country's resources by misappropriating revenues from the country's maritime program when he served as Commissioner of the Bureau of Maritime Affairs by using money from the maritime coffers to illegally buy arms to fuel the war machine of his former boss Charles Taylor.

Mr Urey also undermined the laws of Liberia by misusing his power to appoint and employ a Keyan national, a confidante of Viktor Bout, the infamous "merchant of death" who is in prison in United States as Deputy Commissioner for international affairs with the sole intent to misuse the country's diplomatic immunity to run guns around the war fueling war and conflict.

Today, it is believe that Mr Urey is Liberia's richest man but no trail of evidence how he got his riches in a short time period only. His only trail of gainful employment and source of livelihood was been Commissioner of Maritime Affairs.

Mr Urey misused the revenues of the maritime program to purchase arms and in turn brought to arms to Liberia and those arms killed the very people whose coffers the money was stolen from.

Mr Urey is a menace to Liberia and a threat to the stability of the country. If the United States government does not act and this incarnate of war crime convict Charles Taylor forces his way to the Presidency buy use of his way with his "dirty millions" as he intends to do with the campaign strategy of "cash violence"- fluctuate the electorates with outlandish cash for votes, the United States would had wasted its human and financial resources in Liberia in vein and will be setting up to waste another of their resources again in the short time to come because Mr Urey will ruin the peace we enjoy and restore anarchy which will ultimately lead to chaos.

We the people of Liberia are tired of our country being run by bad people like Mr Urey and we need a breath of fresh air after decades of destruction and instability.

A Urey Presidency will also a threat to United States interest because terrorists will find a safe haven in Liberia and the country will be a hotbed for fueling conflict in the sub region as he is very vested and a career gun runner who knows the inside and outside of gun running and they will come to him and Liberia will be the hotbed for fueling conflict in the region and world as his former boss did for whom he was a foot soldier for running his errands of gun running.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission in its report also recommended Mr Urey be banned from holding public office in Liberia for his involvement in the Liberian civil war and charged him with economic crime for misusing the public resources to buy guns and run the Lonestar Cell phone company which stole from the Liberian people. Mr. Urey and his company are mandated to pay $36 million back to the Liberian people for robbing them of millions while operating his Lonestar company.

If Mr Urey's former boss Charles Taylor, Viktor Bout, and his other associates and partners in gun running are in prison, why not Mr Urey too be prosecuted and imprisoned upon a guilty verdict?

A Urey Presidency will be like an imprisoned drug lord running the streets from behind bars and so will war crime convict Charles Taylor will be running Liberia from behind bars in Great Britain prison.

We therefore call on the United States government, President Obama, the U S Congress, U S Treasury Department, and U S Justice Department not to remove Mr Urey from it's "Specially Designated National" list and also move forward to immediately indict and arrest him and subsequently he face prosecution for his crimes.
