No More Lavish Weddings? Proposed Bill Limits Guest Count & If You Spend Over Rs 5 Lakhs Then..
NEW DELHI: A Bill in the Lok Sabha seeks to put a limit on the number of guests to be invited and dishes to be served in weddings to check "show of wealth" and wants those spending above Rs 5 lakh to contribute towards marriages of poor girls.
If a family spends above Rs 5 lakh on a wedding, it has to contribute 10 per cent of the amount on marriages of girls from poor families, according to the Bill introduced by Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan, wife of MP Pappu Yadav.

We individuals of India have a right to spend or contribute money after paying TAX, why government wants to target only middle class always?? Now a days all the bills introducing in parliament is trying to get money from middle class people in the form TAX and they who are genuinely paying TAX , they are being asked to pay more and more by increasing TAX rates but in return middle class people are affording more and more increased daily needs product rates like petrol . But their are more than 100 core people who was not even filling returns as per govt records itself so why the govt is not trying to consider them, so 1st take steps against them who are not paying TAX at all.
Due to marriages many people are getting employment opportunity by making other marriages like event managers, farmer for growing flowers, vegetables, light decoration people, catering etc etc. So government wants to decrease employment opportunity in the country????????
Yes we support the bill for not wasting food but not on total amount spend during marriages and 10% contribution to the govt.
So i would like to request all to sign a petition so that govt should know how many common people are against this bill.
