Democratic Way of Choosing Leaders: Stop the Appointment

We were informed there was going to be vetting after which elections would follow. After series of events, the vetting was called off without any equitable information. That notwithstanding, it was rumoured that, during the vetting, there was some kind of discrimination against some aspirants on grounds of denominational belongingness which according to the Electoral Commissioner is not a criterion that qualifies one for the position of the College President. This act has triggered some form of segregation and has consequently rendered the Students Representative Council without active leaders.

It has been 21 days after the resumption of the academic year and the entire student body lay in wait of their leaders. We the undersigned therefore humbly wish to bring to your notice the need for student leadership and also wish to emphasize on the need for the conducting of elections in pursuit of the choice of leaders rather than appointing persons as acting prefects.
