CP Rail Trains barrel through the neighborhood several times a day, 24 hours a day. We listen to the sonic blasts of the horns at all hours of the day and night. The horns are especially disruptive at night and in the early morning hours. The noise and pitch of the horns are at such a level that they are hindering invaluable sleep for individuals and families. The residents throughout the surrounding vicinity are suffering from the excessive blasting of the horns. We understand that Watervliet and Cohoes both have quiet zones and we the homeowners in Menands want the same.
We the Homeowners of the Village of Menands call on Mayor Grenier and the Board of Trustees, Aileen Nicholl, Seth Harris, Diane Foley, and Steve Boulet to take action and to take the necessary steps to create and provide a quiet zone along the rail tracks that enter our residential areas.
