Fraternity and sorority life encourages academic excellence, promotes community service and awareness, and teaches Christian values and morals all while creating life long friendships.
The predominately black sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Inc., currently has over 200,000 educated women members in over 900 chapters globally. Founded in 1913, DST stands on the Five Point Programmatic Thrust:
~Economic Development
~Educational Development
~International Awareness and Involvement
~Physical and Mental Health
~Political Awareness and Involvement
National sororities provide connection not only with other like-minded students on campus, but with like-minded individuals around the globe. Not only does DST have ties with the United Nations, but many powerful women are members of sororities like this one.
We, the undersigned, call on Terry Franson to help bring more diversity to Azusa Pacific University's campus life by allowing a chapter of the national organization Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated to be chartered here for undergraduate female students.
