Fellow Windsor Farm Elementary School students….
Why are we (US students) way behind in MATH and SCIENCE when we compare ourselves to the World… Several East Asian countries and some European nations are in 1st place in math and science. For example South Korea and Singapore led the international rankings in math and fourth-grade science, while Singapore and Taiwan had the top-performing students in eighth-grade science.
HERE ARE OUR (USA) RANKINGS:
11th-place in fourth-grade math
9th-place in eighth-grade math,
7th-place in fourth-grade science and
10th-place in eighth-grade science.
HOW CAN WE WIN BACK 1st PLACE...???!!!!!
"SCIENCE FAIRS" help us (students) form ideas, test hypotheses, and learn to communicate (articulate) our results. PLUS ....there is excitement and pride with trophies and public recognition.. All which help encourage us (students) to further our scientific inquiries.
Without the support of Windsor Farm's Principle, Teachers, parents we will never get the race!
