Cancel St Patrick's Day visit to US by an Taoiseach

The Irish Taoiseach traditionally visits the Americans President on St. Patrick's Day and presents a bowl of shamrock. This is a gesture of goodwill and friendship in the name of the Irish citizens, which in the current climate would be completely unacceptable and utterly misrepresentative of the Irish nation.

We, the Irish citizenry, demand that Enda Kenny boycott this annual event. We wish to disassociate ourselves from a President whose message of hate, misogyny, disrespect, intolerance and bigotry is completely in contrast to everything we stand for as a nation.

We demand our Taoiseach to hold true to a higher standard of morals and ethics. We understand the significant business ties between our two nations; more importantly however, we understand the true currency of humanity needs to be put before any business dealings and we need to hold our partner nations accountable for their actions.
