Generations change and the laws should too. More women are working today and still receiving spousal support or alimony when not needed. The reason is because the law allows it.

When a woman/man chooses to leave her/his spouse and refuse to reconcile the marriage, she/he is acting independent, therefore, should not continue to depend on the spouse once she/he files divorce.

When a spouse chooses to start a new life, new beginning, new family, they should not be entitled to support and should no longer depend on other spouse for their needs. Both parties have a right to a new beginning without one antagonizing the other for self satisfaction. A divorce/legal seperation shall break all ties among husband/wife, with exception to children.

We, the undersigned, call on the PA State Rep to modify and change spousal/alimony laws so that they are current with today's society and common living arrangements among legally seperated/divorced spouses.
