Bus Driver Fired Unfairly

Ross Belsham has been fired from his job driving buses for the past 50yrs.
A young girl got onto his bus when he went to look for a teacher to help with the children piling up to hop on the bus and so there would be a record of what child/ren were hopping on the bus and where they were required to be dropped off along the way.
The 5yr old child went to the back of the bus and promptly fell asleep. Nobody realised she was on the bus at all.
The stop that this child was to have gotten off at, her mother was not there to collect her daughter otherwise she could have pulled the bus up and asked where she was.

At the end of his shift after dropping the children whom were registered as being in his bus, he headed back to the depot.

His error was in not checking through the bus but he felt confident that the four children marked present getting on his bus, had all vacated at where they needed to be. He locked the bus at the depot and proceeded to leave.

This poor man has been made a scapegoat. Has the teachers that were supposed to be monitoring the buses been fired? Has the mother been made held accountable that she allows her 5yr old daughter to catch the bus to and from school on her own without her presence really a safe one? Mr Belsham May have made a mistake that certainly caused some upset but he does NOT deserve to be fired from a long standing employment with this company or even a suspension. I’m pretty sure Mr Belsham has now learnt his lesson and will forever make sure he does a complete sweep of the bus before he leaves for the night.
