Build a Skate park at Laurel Park in St. Peters, MO

These are a few reasons why we think that Laurel Park needs a skate park. One reason why Laurel needs a skate park is because it'll encourage kids to exercise and be more active, while still having fun. Another reason why a skate park would be good for Laurel is because many kids in the community currently have to go all the way out to O'Fallon just to skate/bike because it's the closest skate park in the area. We think that this could be built where the roller rink currently is. We've never seen anyone using it and the concrete is in bad condition, not even fit for safely roller skating. Finally, many kids make unsafe dirt ramps on the hills all around the park to substitute the lack of a proper skate park. If a skate park is built, there'll be no need for kids to do this, and could even boost the amount of traffic the park receives. We just want a close, safe place to ride where we can hangout and have fun. A new playground was just installed to make the park more interesting to the younger kids, and we'd like some new equipment as well so we have more to do next time we visit the park. A new skate park would also blend great with the new playground that is being re-painted in late April. Please take this into consideration.
