A desire for a better life and the opportunities that this Great Nation of America has offered to many was mine and others driving force, that propelled the sometimes difficult journeys to this land. From the peaks of Africa, the coastal waters of central America, the valleys of Europe and from the mountains of the Caribbean many immigrants for centuries people from across the global, came to the United States of America to pursue “The American Dream”
History tells us that this nation was built on immigrants. In fact, the father of former President Obama was an immigrant, like many of our parents and foreparents. The success of this country relies deeply on our ability to fix the broken immigration system and to collaborate with international partners to make our country a global frontier. We need to educate our citizens through an advanced education system, We need to create a sustainable economic system and most importantly, we must once and for all, overhaul our complex and partial immigration system.

As concerned citizens of Maryland, we are joining the cause. We are strongly proposing that our policymakers and senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin make their priority to pass a legislation for a proper Immigration Reform. As Americans must always endeavor to be an example to the world. “We must say NO to unpopular immigration policies that are creating Barriers and not Opportunities. It's time to build great minds and not walls, to build a better future for American no matter where you come from”. Let us all rise up and fight to build Bridges and not Walls.
Please support this petition to vote against using our country's valuable resources to building walls!
