Over the past couple of years, Trinidad and Tobago have been experiencing a serious increased in violences at our schools. Teachers on a daily basis are being threatened and verbally and physically abused by students.
It has reached to the point where a gun attack was planned on teachers and security guards at a secondary school. A principal was badly beaten by two secondary schools students while he attempted to stop a fight.
Gambling and the selling of drugs in our schools is also a serious problem.
I hereby call on the Honorable Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley to take drastic steps to deal with the high level of violence that we are currently experiencing in our schools throughout the country.
