We, the citizens of Marion want to have burning permits again for campfires on our properties. We feel that we were robbed by the city of Marion when they took away our privilege to do that. That was time when people could spend quality family time together enjoying a campfire. People have the opportunity to discuss their problems or talk about how their day has been. Alot of people sit around campfires and relax from the stress of the day. People sit around them and play music and go down memory lane. We feel that like before people should be able to obtain a burn permit after signing a set of rules to abide by. We feel that we as citizens of Marion should be able to do this at our convenience.
We the citizens of Marion are asking the city to reinstate burn permits. We want to be able to have our campfires with our families or etc. We understand that we have to sign a set of rules to get a permit and if they are violated that there will be consequences. We are the citizens of Marion and we feel we should have a voice in this and have this privilege given back to us. We are signing this petition because we are agreeing to abide by all rules and regulations set forth. We understand that if the fire dept is called they have the authority to extinguish it if deemed in violation of rules.
