Australian Security Officers want an end to 'sham contracting'

For too long governing bodies have overlooked and not been firm enough with handing out fines and charges against security firms offering employment under an ABN only policy. For the future of the security industry within Australia these practices need to be forcefully made to either comply or close their business operations and any fines given out be financially placed back into the industry to assist in ventures of raising standards in other sectors eg: National training requirements and doing away with AWA and EBA agreements.
This is not just something that thousands of security personnel across the country want, but is something that in our opinion (the directors of The Security Network Of Australia) needs to be acted upon to save the industry's integrity being demolished any further by these 'sham contractors'.
We, the undersigned, hereby call on local, state and federal licensing bodies to appoint an external investigation and auditing body to investigate, report on and have fines and charges laid against the illegal operations of security firms hiring officers under ABN and at lower rates thus enforcing them to comply with state and federal laws or being closed down, removing their opportunity to operate with in the industry for a minimum period of no less than 5 (five) years.
