As most of us know Australia Day also known as Invasion Day is on the 26th of January. The date is a terrible reminder for aboriginals. The day should be moved to a mutual day.
There is nothing wrong with celebrating being an Australian citizen but the date is a reminder of such tragic times for Aboriginals.
It would be nice if it was on a mutual day where everyone can celebrate being Australian citizens. Instead of celebrating Invasion, Rape, Murder, Theft, Murder and more.
I ask to please change the day to a date that has no significance or history towards either the English or the Aboriginals.
