The IOC created a Youth Olympic Games for youth from all over the world would take part in. In January, Athens was eliminated from the bid because of its high budget and widespread venues.
Athens created the Ancient Olympic and hosted the first Modern Olympics and should have the automatic right to be able to host the first Youth Olympic Games. They hosted the 2004 Olympic Games and they have everything they need because there were nearly or more half a million athletes and they found hotels for them. The will be less athletes for the YOG then the 2004 Olympics so Athens has everything needed to host the first Youth Olympic Games.
The budget Athens stated made it clear that were willing to go to the fullest extent to making the Games spectacular and everything they promised Singapore should not have gotten the bid and the IOC is foolish for stating feeble reasons were not awarding the YOG to Athens. They should change their decision...now.
We, the undersigned, call on the International Olympic Committee to recall their award of the I Youth Olympic Games to Singapore, Singapore and to award it to Athens, Greece.
The bid Athens presented was more than acceptable for the Youth Olympic Games, hereby referred to as the, "YOG". Athens started the Ancient Olympics and hosted the first Modern Olympics and should be given the right to host the first YOG.
The budget Athens proposed makes it clear that they wanted the youth athletes of the world to experience the very finest first class presentations and reside on the most beautiful beaches. They have venues in excellent condition from the 2004 Athens Games that are not as widespread as described at the hotel and any other concerns were made bigger than it really was.
We, the undersigned, request you rethink your election and demand that you see the potential Athens has for the Youth Olympic Games and to award Athens to YOG. As for Singapore, we ask to award them the II Youth Olympic Games so their work isn't wasted. We hereby demand that Athens receive the first YOG.
