Target:
Parents/Teachers of Carl Junction MO School District
Region:
United States of America

I hope you will understand that most of us, the undersigned have dreams, aspirations, ideals and hopes for our children and that therefore you will take the time to read this petition.

We, the undersigned, strongly believe in the parent's right to choose whether our children are subjected to objectionable materials during school hours or beyond. The upcoming President's Address to the schools on Sept 7, 2009 is one such event. We, the undersigned, feel that the unknown material could be political in nature and therefore, should not be required to be viewed by minors without their parents present.

We are petitioning because we believe that the parents of minor children in this school district should be allowed to forego viewing the President's Address on September 7, 2009 at 12:00. We respectfully submit that an "opt-out" should be made available to children in each building in the Carl Junction R-1 School District.

We also respectfully request that the children who are not watching the address be given an alternative assignment so as not to be penalized in any way.

We, the undersigned, request an "opt-out" from the September 7, 2009 Presidential Address for minor children in the Carl Junction R-1 School District.

We also request that these students not be penalized for opting out of the address.

The Allow Parental Choice on Sept 8 petition to Parents/Teachers of Carl Junction MO School District was written by Amber Stinnett and is in the category Education at GoPetition.
