As citizens of Sundance, we are thankful to live in a small town where we are able to live productive and safe lives. We wish to allow chickens in Sundance city limits for a variety of reasons including:
1. We would like to have home-raised eggs from our backyard.
2. Chickens help with insect, snake and rodent control.
3. Chickens help enhance the productivity of soil.
4. Having outside "pets" increases our ability to raise dynamic and responsible children.
5. We will be a more self-sustaining people when we can raise more of our own food.
6. Chickens assist in reducing waste by eating fruit and vegetable peels as well as other kitchen scraps.
7. We will be more aware of science and more interested in our local habitat.
8. Chickens have been proven to provide stress relief for their owners.
It's time to bring chickens into the town of Sundance for a healthier and happier community.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Sundance to allow us the right to have chickens within city limits.
