The Australian Medical Board has received over 98 complaints, in 2004, FROM Professor Paddy Dewan, which have resulted in little action, despite 25 cases relating to the performance of one surgeon. However, one case with no adverse outcome has resulted in Professor Dewan being threatened with de-registration.
The issue is the ability of the Australian Medical Board to abuse their position of power, and the public purse, to vilify someone who has identified deficiencies in their performance.
We, the undersigned, call on the Victorian Parliament to conduct an investigation into the conduct of the Medical Board of Victoria (Australia) in relation to the conduct of the case against Professor Paddy, including in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Furthermore, we call for the reinstatement of Professor Dewan to the Royal Children's Hospital, and investigation of the veracity of his dismissal.
