Over the past 5 years, the Philippine Nation has experienced disastrous flooding. The Filipinos, though a resilient and optimistic people, can only endure so much. Not so long ago, Typhoon Ketsana (PAGASA: Ondoy) claimed the lives of over 400 citizens and displaced thousands of families from their homes. Then in December 2011, Tropical Storm Sendong devastated our brothers in Mindanao and left us with a death toll of over 1000.
The Filipinos, as a nation, must act to ensure that these tragedies do not affect us ever again.
By signing The Flood-free Philippines Petition, you are accepting that it is your moral and civic obligation to do your part in the rehabilitation of our environment and that you will continue to call on your Leaders to start an honest to goodness flood way plan.
