Has Cootamundra Council Failed You As A Constituent?

The Roads, Parks, Public Amenities, Footpaths (or lack of), Storm Water System, Sewerage System, Water Mains, etc have been neglected for way too long.

Our roads are a driving hazard, some of the holes around our shire are big enough to swallow a truck Tyre.

Our parks may get mowed and watered frequently but that doesn't get rid of the smashed alcohol bottles, cat heads or needles that get left behind. I have not been to one park in Cootamundra where my children have not found glass, a needle or got a foot full of cat heads.

Footpath!!!!! What footpaths, the only concreted footpaths in Cootamundra are around schools and main businesses, what about the residents that work to the schools or businesses. I am sure that there is more than one person in town that works to work or school, I am also sure that more than 99% of people that work somewhere have had to walk on the road as there are no footpaths.

Our Storm Water System or should I call it our flood system. There is not one street, avenue or road that doesn't hold water for days after ten minutes of rain. The only bridge over Muttama Creek is on Parker St, what about the other five cause ways on Muttama Creek that most vehicles cannot drive through after a couple of hours of rain.

Sewerage system, I have been here nine years now and I can only remember one year when the Council workers didn't have to come and put an electric eel down the sewerage system out the front of my house to unblock the system, that's without all the repairs i have been detoured around or passed in nine years.

The Water Mains in Cootamundra are being dug up and repaired more regular then the washers in your taps get changed, the water tastes like crap, it's brown, don't you think it's time to spend some Water Rate on our Water Mains.

ROBERT FRANCIS JENKINS'(DECEASED) left Cootamundra Council $125000 to construct a amenities block on the Hovell Street side of Albert Park on or as near as possible to the previous site of public toilets on that side of the park. They now have three months from 2nd Feb to decide whether or not they will, if they decide to they then have a furthermore twelve months to complete its construction.

The general harassment from Cootamundra Council is enough to scare most average people from staying in our town, isn't the Council supposed to make our town more inviting for people moving to our region not make it impossible for everyone.
