Say NO to a Proposed Pet Adoption and Education Facility at Lower Pt. Vicente Park
- National Park Service, OGALS in CA Dept of Parks, Rancho Palos Verdes City Council
- United States of America
Lower Point Vicente was deeded to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes by the federal government for the general public’s enjoyment IN PERPETUITY AS PUBLIC RECREATION OPEN SPACE.
Yet, the City is currently considering an application from the Annenberg Foundation to provide a dog and cat adoption and education center—a project that would occupy 14 acres of the site, including a 50,979 sq. ft. building for pet shelter, classroom, auditorium, exhibit, retail, and office space.
This proposed building and this proposed use are inappropriate for this unique coastal bluff-top site.
