On Wednesday, February 02, 2011, via Twitter, it was announced that CTV was buying over the Toronto radio station FLOW 93.5, and in this process two radio shows dedicated around the Caribbean cultures and their music, "Riddim Track" and "Soca Therapy" were cancelled. The following words were posted on the Twitter accounts of people working on these radio shows:

"@SPEXDABOSS

Jus so y'all hear it from me first, the riddim track show will no longer be. It has been taken off the air due to ctv buying station!"

"@socaprince

Yes, it's true. Soca Therapy has been affected by the changes at Flow. Sorry. Sundays won't be the same."

"@MARXMAN_KOS

On behalf of @socaprince & @nursekaren we thank you for the years of support. Soca Therapy has been silenced by the changes at Flow935."

"@nursekaren
Nurse Karen soca
♥ to @socaprince @SPEXDABOSS @MARXMAN_KOS for committing to excellence in developing TO's soca / reggae scene, gonna miss the lime"

After this information was released on Twitter, a storm of concern and questions buzzed around the subject. Not only Toronto, but people from all over the world that tuned into these 2 radio shows weekly were saddened and angry about the cancellation of these 2 shows. Over the years, the show has gained respect from viewers of all races and has gained respect from many artists. The fact that people of Caribbean descent in Canada and all over the world could tune into a radio station with 6 hours of soca, reggae, dancehall, and genres such as that every week brought grave ratings for the radio station.

The fact that a huge company such as CTV bought over the radio station and cancelled the 2 shows that served the Caribbean community raised a lot of commotion. On all sorts of social networking sights such as Facebook and Twitter, comments and discussions have come up wondering why CTV would cancel these 2 shows with extremely high ratings.

Many people that dedicated their Sundays listening to these 2 radio shows are angry and upset over the cancellation and wish to change the outcomes of what happened after CTV bought FLOW 93.5 over. This petition is to show CTV that there are many people out there that are upset and angry and want Riddim Track and Soca Therapy back on air.

We the undersigned, call on CTV to bring back the two radio shows " Riddim Track" and "Soca Therapy" to air on FLOW 93.5, a radio station they recently bought over.

The 2 shows were aired Sunday nights, Soca Therapy from 6pm-9pm and Riddim Track from 9pm-12am. This petition is to be signed by people who want these 2 radio shows back on air.
