Remove religion from State Schools in Australia

The Australian public school system is secular yet is riddled with religion. From school pledges including religious verses and oaths to the segregative Religious Education classes, the Chaplains over qualified counsellors - just to name a few instances.

Religious education classes are not comparative and are biased - there is also no alternative for those with either no supernatural beliefs or those children from families who practice a different religion.

Religious education is a matter for families, not for the public school system and should not be funded by the secular Australian Government. Those seeking to give their children religious education can do so outside of school hours. Is it not the role of a secular government to promote religion in any shape or form within the public school system.

To keep in line with the moral zeitgeist and human rights in general - State Schools must remove religion from all pledges and oaths, correspondence and classes, provide qualified secular school counsellors, remove religious education from the school curriculum and repel any insistence that creation myths be taught in science class.

Comparative religious classes with no bias are of value to any student and are not included in this protest and demand.
