The People's Park in Waterford has no public lighting. Studies have shown that public safety can be compromised by lack of lighting.
The lack of lighting also renders the park unusable in the afternoons in the winter months.
To promote both safety and increased use of this public amenity we advocate public lighting in and around the People's Park, Waterford.
We, the undersigned, call on Waterford City Council to provide public lighting for the People's Park, to promote the safety of the citizens that use it and encourage maximum use of this amenity especially during the winter months.
