Books are filled with words and pages. They are filled with information, new ideas, and an imaginary world that pulls one in. They consume one with knowledge and inspiration. Books are new insights in a person's learning process. Books are loved and should not be forgotten.
Many parents and religious groups believe certain books, such as the Harry Potter series, should be banned because it is harmful to students. However, the books aren't harmful to students because they contain numerous lessons and themes that students could learn from. For example, in the Harry Potter books, some themes that students could benefit from are Friendship, Education/Knowledge, Prejudice, and Love. Why banned books that are completely harmless to students and will teach students many important materials that will help students succeed in life?
Books are educational. They should not be censored and banned. Students will lose their freedom to educate themselves if books are censored. Students won't be able to read what they want to read and will lose their First Amendment rights. Books aren't dangerous- they contain only magic that is used to educate the world.
We, the students of America, petition that no organizations should ban books such as the Harry Potter series. Books that are banned violate our First Amendment rights and violate our right to receive new ideas and information.
