1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. 2 women are killed every week in the UK by their partners/ex partners. Victims are rarely given protection from their partners/ex partners abuse after a prison sentence is finished, which often leaves the victims continuing to live in fear or having to move away from the area in order to protect themselves and their children.

I feel that this should change, the victim should be able to stay at HOME where they may have some family/friend support around them and children can stay in their school. I feel that the laws should change and the abuser should be made to move away.

We the undersigned call on the government to make changes to the laws relating to domestic abuse.

We feel that the victims should be better protected.

When a prison sentence has been served, the abuser should be made to move to another part of the country away from their victim on release from prison.

A new register should be formed a bit like sex offenders which the abuser should be made to sign on release from prison, in the town/city where they move to.

The abuser should have somewhere they have to go at least once a week to sign on to ensure they keep away from their victim.

The abuser should be monitored.
