Leonard Peltier was jailed over 30 years ago after a chaotic shootout at the Pine Ridge reservation. He is an (AIM) American Indian Movement political prisoner. Though there is no evidence, and all the witnesses recanted, saying they were threatened by the FBI. Someone had to pay for the death of two FBI agents, and it happened to be Leonard Peltier.
After over 30 years, Leonard Peltier is still being held as a political prisoner for his association with the American Indian Movement (AIM). The FBI had to blame someone for the death of two FBI agents in a chaotic shoot-out at Pine Ridge reservation.
Tensions with the FBI were already high because of the occupation of Wounded Knee. There is no evidence against him and all the witnesses recanted saying they were intimidated by the FBI.
