Griggs Park is the second park created to suit African American in the City of Dallas. The first Park to have a swimming pool for African American. And the City is redeveloping the park. Using Public and Private Money
to redesign the park. It will have a bike trail, Dog run, a foutain to hear the water fall. The football field, the baseball will be removed. The swimming has already been coverd.
When in fact the police chase the poor shall I say the black kids out of the apartments surrounding them that has a swimming pool. The kids are being left out in this design. the kid are in need of the pool, the diamond field, the football field, and the girls need cheerleading. To release teenage aggression, get some structure, show competition, sportsmanship, but city planning have left them out.
For the police to deal with . And the City is using the word pocket park as they redesign. And Pockert Park means LandMark. I guess African Americans History is not good enough to be landmark.
The City of Dallas is calling Griggs Park a Pocket Park I called the Library and they said Pocket Park means a Landmark of History to be kept the same. Our Children today do not have a football team in that community nor do the have a swimming pool nor do the have a cheer-leading squad the community had that in 1944, in and before and they can't have it in 2010.
Give our kids at least the swimming pool so the police don't have to chase them. Also everyone in the area of uptown has one. The City can count them in.
