School Crossing Guard at the intersection of Colgate Avenue and Watson Avenue

During the morning and afternoon school hours there is high traffic of children and adults crossing at this intersection with no supervision. Colgate & Watson Avenue is also a pick up and drop off location for the C.S. 152 school bus during these hours. The children dismiss in the backyard enter and exit onto Colgate which crosses with Watson Avenue.
On Thursday, October 14, 2010 a 5 year old student and her Grandmother were struck by a car at this intersection.
We, the staff, parents, and community of C.S. 152 are requesting that a crossing guard be placed at the intersection of Colgate Avenue and Watson Avenue.
Children are at great risk crossing this intersection due to the fact that there is no traffic light.
There have been a number of accidents at this intersection, two of which involved students of 152. We need a crossing guard to ensure the safety of our students and community.
