Whereas a number of other Canadian Provinces have their own 'Volunteer Service Medal' British Columbia does not. This petition calls on the Province of British Columbia to implement a unique Provincial Volunteer Service Medal; along the lines of the protocols established by the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship, Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers, Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Service Medal, Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal (SVM) etc.
We, the undersigned, call on the Province of British Columbia to implement a Volunteer Service Medal as part of the Provincial Honours and Awards Program.
