It is very obvious that Appalachia and Pound do not want Consolidation.There are more people who speak against consolidation than people who are for it. A waste of money would be to use more buses to take the Appalachia students to Powell Valley everyday when most Appalachia students homes are in walking distance of the school.
There is no reason to close Appalachia and Pound high schools just desires, not from the people, but from your self's. Do whats best for the students not what is best for you.I hope you will read this petition as it was written, not one ear and out the other.
We, the students, teachers, and parents, demand that you, the school board,eliminate all consolidation plans for Appalachia High School. We appreciate the school that we have and do not need to close it for any reason that you have.
Appalachia High School is a school that we learn in, mature in, and prepare ourselves in for any and all things we will need for success.It is a school we thrive and achieve in. It is also a a school that you are trying to close and we strongly disagree with any and all plans to do so. If you want to try and close then hold a vote at the schools you are trying to close and let the students vote and whether to consolidate or not.
That is the only fair way.If not that way then you are not looking what is best for the students. This petition is our way of letting you know why you shouldn't consolidate. Please do not proceed with the consolidation plans.
