We believe that Gay and Lesbian people should have the right to celebrate cultural diversity at the Pride event to be held in Townsville in September 2010.
Pride events such as this will only add to the cultural capital and economic impact of the Townsville community.
We the undersigned believe that acceptance, tolerance and inclusion are much better examples of family values to our children than bigotry, hatred and the misleading association that all gay men and lesbian women are in some way sexual deviants.
We call on Townsville Council to remain a supporter of the Gay Pride event to be held in Townsville during September 2010, and we don't want important members of the community to be denied their human right to congregate and socialise in a safe and responsibly way with like minded fairy folk.
